Technical descents and ascents which require a bit of crawling

My happy places are Eskdale and the Duddon Valley in the Lakes, both filled with outstanding rocky outcrops and some good bogs too!

Newlands Memorial Fell Race can’t be beaten: steep climbs, fast undulating sections and a steep technical descent off Cat Bells to top it all off!

Second would have to go to BB Kong, a brutal winter race with a steep climb up Doddick Fell and onto Blencathra, followed by a sketchy scree descent, not for the faint-hearted…

I love the Breeze Hood, it is super comfy and provides the perfect amount of warmth for those days when just a t-shirt is a little too cold. It also packs down incredibly small for longer races.

Winning the Under 20 Junior Home International for England in the Wicklow Mountains, Ireland. The feeling of crossing the line first I will never forget. I sealed the win with a cartwheel celebration! I completed the Bob Graham Round, over three days, with a friend in 2023, it was an amazing trip, and I hope to do it within the 24 hours in the future.

I am in the 2025 Youth UK Skyrunning team, taking part in the Youth Skyrunning World Championships in the Gran Sasso Range in Italy at the beginning of August. I also have hopes for the Under-20 England and GB teams later in the season.
