OMM releases its first shoe: The Fell Shoe

After 55 years at the heart of British mountain running, OMM is launching its first-ever running shoe — the OMM Fell Shoe. Designed in partnership with Vibram, and tested by OMM athletes over the past three years across miles of UK mountain terrain, the Fell Shoe represents the culmination of decades of innovation and experience in extreme conditions.

Running shoes have long been the missing piece in the OMM range. The OMM Fell Shoe has been developed to deliver a shoe worthy of OMM’s mountain heritage and reputation for innovation.

“This is a huge milestone for OMM,” says Tom Williams, Managing Director of OMM. “We’ve been exploring footwear for many years. The design and technology had to be worthy of OMM’s experience before we committed. It wasn’t until we began working with Vibram, who were developing a new sole prototype, that everything clicked. This was technology we could truly build on. The result is the OMM shoe we always wanted to make.”

Technology Born from the British Mountains

Developed with Vibram, the Fell Shoe combines cutting-edge traction technology with OMM’s mountain know-how. The Fell Shoe’s 8mm lug depth is already set to make it one of the most aggressive off-road shoes on the market, but thanks to the Wave System, many parts of the lugs extend to 11mm in depth, without loss of stability or durability, and precise on technical ground.

The outsole features a trio of Vibram innovations:

Vibram Traction Lug: Adds 25% more grip and 50% more surface contact.
Vibram MegaGrip: The trusted compound for wet rock, mud, and loose scree.
Vibram LiteBase: A woven polymer-reinforced base that reduces weight and increases durability.

The upper features OMM’s X-Lock lacing system, designed for stability and comfort on steep, technical descents, while the Wave Sole construction enhances grip, energy return, and foot feel by shaping the midsole and outsole as one integrated system.

Priced at £150 RRP, the OMM Fell Shoe will be available from early December 2025 via theomm.com and selected specialist retailers.
