OMM’s New Trail Shoe Focuses on Speed, Grip and Stability
OMM (Original Mountain Marathon) expands its footwear range with the launch of the OMM Trail Shoe — a lightweight, responsive trail running shoe designed for runners who want to move efficiently and confidently across mixed terrain.
Following a strong early response to its first shoe launch in December 2025, OMM continues to develop its approach to footwear with the introduction of the Trail Shoe. Designed for runners who want to move efficiently across mixed terrain, it’s built for pace and precision rather than maximal cushioning, delivering a fast, responsive feel with stability and control underfoot.
At 246g (UK 8), with a 27mm stack height and 6mm drop, the Trail Shoe balances low weight with support. The midsole is tuned to feel responsive and stable, providing enough cushioning for longer trail runs while maintaining ground connection and energy return when moving at speed.
Underfoot, the Trail Shoe features a Vibram Litebase outsole combined with Vibram MegaGrip rubber and Vibram Traction Lug technology. Lightness is fundamental to conserving energy and enhancing performance: Vibram Litebase reduces 30% of the overall sole weight through a reduction of sole thickness by 50%, while maintaining Vibram’s quality in grip, traction and durability. This allows the Trail Shoe to remain agile and efficient without compromising confidence across varied trail conditions.

The outsole design works in utilises OMM’s Wave Technology, which increases effective sole length and allows the sole unit to adapt to the contours of the trail. This enhances surface contact, improves ground feel and contributes to a stable, predictable ride when moving quickly across uneven terrain.
Protection comes from an integrated EVA rock plate within the midsole, shielding the foot from rocks and roots while also aiding efficient energy transfer during toe-off.
The upper is constructed from breathable ripstop nylon with TPU reinforcement in high-wear areas, designed to dry quickly and withstand repeated use in demanding conditions. OMM’s X-Lock lacing system spreads tension across the foot, reducing pressure points and fabric stretch while delivering a secure, locked-in fit when descending or changing pace.
The Trail Shoe is available in two fits — Regular and Regular+ — with the Regular+ option providing additional forefoot volume for runners who prefer a wider fit, without altering the shoe’s performance characteristics.
