The NEW Ultra 8 is designed for training and racing. The innovative diaphragm strap enables loosening or tightening the fit on the move for stability and comfort when necessary. Expandable side pocket access allows for carrying of waterproofs to water bottles.
This latest iteration of an already popular pack offers the same stability and capacity of the previous generation but now with the added benefit of a more sustainable construction.
The ULTRA RANGE now utilises the INFINIOMM manufacture process, utilising a single polymer (in this case, Nylon) to enhance the ease of recycling and forward processing.
INFINIOMM:
CIRCULAR MANUFACTURE WITH MONOPLASTICS
PROBLEM: Current recycling practices cannot easily split polymers. Products with a mix such as Nylon and Polyester can only be recycled (if at all) into lower-grade products with a high degree of wastage. This means a less useful end product and the rest going to landfill. To create new products requires the use of more virgin material (often crude oil) and a greater demand on resources.
AIM: Reduce world resource demand, landfill and waste
SOLUTION: Circular Manufacture – aims to use 100% of a product again and again whilst maintaining quality, without the need for 1st use ‘virgin’ materials and zero waste.
HOW: The Ultra Pack Range has been updated to use a single polymer throughout. Each pack is entirely constructed from high-quality Nylon; including zips, fabrics, webbing and buckles; the works!
INFINIOMM – No Extra Waste. No New Resources. Infinite Loop
The Y-shaped Harness distributes pack weight over a larger area and so reduces pressure on the shoulders. The wider distribution also makes for a more stable carry.
Riding high on the back for better stability also allows for the use of a diaphragm strap, combining both chest and waist harness into one. This can be adjusted on the fly as the load changes. Still compatible with OMM Pack Accessories
The large mesh dump pockets on each side are perfect for water bottles or snacks and can be easily accessed whilst on the move.

Backpack or RaceVest?
And when is a backpack a vest!? A backpack normally uses a more traditional shoulder strap system, alongside a waistbelt and/or sternum strap fro stability. A vest is more like a piece of clothing, with fabric wrapping around the torso, both for stability and also allowing for extra pockets and storage. Backpacks are generally suited to larger loads as they can have more padding on the straps and weight through the waistbelt. However, the benefits of a racevest, with its accessable storage on the move, we have tried to incorporate some of those features, alongside the fit and stability to larger loads in order to create VestPacks such as the Phantom 25.
Can I Wash My Backpack?
Yes! Its a good idea to occasionally wash away all that sweat, dirt and oil that accumulates through regular use of your Backpack. Just check all the pockets for forgotten jelly babies and fivers, undo the zips and remove any foam padding from the back system plus any other removables such as pegs. Use a quick cycle and a specific outdoor wash then line dry; done! More Info Here
Men's & Women's Backpacks?
Nope! Since all our backpacks are designed for running, they ride high on the back away from the running motion of the hips. This means back lenths is less of an issue and we are able to have a good degree of adjustability, to suit a range of body shapes, in the harness and shoulder straps. Some of our larger backpack sizes are better suited to larger frames, such as the Classic 32 whereas the smaller Phantom 18 would be a good choice for a smaller frame but they are both unisex.
What's the volume?
The number quoted after most of our backpacks denotes its total volume, though stretch mesh panels and waistbelt pockets usually add a little extra to that total!
